Getting Involved

We would love your ideas, thoughts and feedback into what you think of our Children's Centre.  We have many ways in which you can let us know exactly what you want and need or what you would like to see more of within your local Children's Centre.  Maybe it's a parent forum or a particular session you are interested in? You may want to become a parent volunteer or representative.

Come and get involved in your Children's Centre!

At South Kirkby and Northwood Children's Centres we are committed to ensuring all parents have the opportunity to have their say in the development of the Centres to ensure we are meeting your needs.  You can give us your views by attending meetings, by phone or post, by filling in a satisfaction survey or any of the other ways below - whichever you choose we want to hear from you so we can give you the service you want.

Why get involved?

Your involvement can really help us shape services and ensure we are delivering what's needed.  Involvement from families in the Children's Centres helps us to improve services and make them more responsive to the needs of the local community.  Families have a voice in how policies and practicies are developed.  More efficient and cost effective services are placed where they are needed most.  Services become more accessible as barriers are removed.  Decision making processes are more open and transparent.  It can build confidence and the skills of those involved.

What will we offer?

Support with childcare where appropriate, relevant training where appropriate, out of pocket expenses, one to one support.

DIFFERENT WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:

Advisory Board

This is a strategic decision making group which consists of partner agencies and up to 6 parent representatives.

Open Days

Occasionally we will organise open days to get feedback from families - if you would like to be notified of these in advance then please let us know.

Operational Groups

These are formal groups held every 6 weeks.  They deal with the day to day issues of the Children's Centres.

Other Parent/Carer Groups

More informal groups meet on a weekly basis for tea and a chat - call us for more information.

Have Your Say

Have Your Say leaflets can be picked up at any our of Children's Centres - feel free to drop in and fill one out or call us and we will arrange for one to be posted.  We welcome your comments, ideas and suggestions and these will go a long way to ensuring your local centre offers you the best services.
